Actually, the last posting on bithday cupcakes was not my first attempt at cupcake decoration. This picture really is my first try. It was done August last year. I kinda like this pink and white combination better. Anyway, the reason for this posting is to give you the icing recipe. It is different from the one I recently used. This one does not require shortening.
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbs milk

Lian, that is a good try. Until today, I still dare not mess around with the creams/icing, hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty! I'll make them for myself when I turn 16 this summer =] I actually was doing some research for my parenting blog, teensonparenting.blogspot.com when I found your blog. And goodness, those cupcakes look enticing. I wish I could reach into the screen and just grab them...yum. Thanks for the great ideas and delicious pics! =]

ReplyDeleteLian...good try..I think I will not be able to do at all....
ReplyDeleteEveryone has to start somewhere... I was such a lousy cake decorator before and I vowed to myself that not until I make something really good looking I'm not going to give up! :P
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, it is a very expensive hobby! I invested a lot of my hard earn money on the tools...
Mummy to qiqi & chanelwong:
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should have a cupcake gathering to get both of you to try it out.

Ahhh... and so we know the secret to beautiful cupcakes lies in the tools (and also talent lah). Expensive hobby eh? Guess I'll stick to my amateur cupcakes. No one else eating except my family. Hahahah.
Lovely! Those cupcakes are like little bridal cakes. The color combination is really working for your little cakes.
